Hey dudes,
Ok don't go mental on me but im a Ford man myself, Always had Capri's, Currently driving a mint Capri 2.8i. Anyway I need a small car too get back and forth to work etc and I have always loved Nova's. I use to have a 3 door 1.2 Luxe model a couple years ago untill some b**tard stole it never to be seen again :( And the police were a great help, Not!
I need another Nova, I can't help myself lusting after the ones I see around by me, normally driven by grannys that wont sell. Anyone in the South Wales area got a cheap Nova they wish to sell? Im really not into the souped up Nova thing just a basic standard Nova is what I want. Ebay prices are getting crazy too.
Cheers all...Rich

Cheers for the warm welcome dudes.
I'll keep my Capri, I don't use it much anyway, Sits in a garage most of the time hiding from the welsh weather. I'll keep looking for the right Nova.
I don't know much about them but was there a mk2 model? I see people talking about mk1's, I thought there was only ever the one model, If you know what I mean.
Really miss my old Nova and I often wonder what happened to her, She was called Nora by the way, Gutted man, absolutely gutted. They should bring back hanging just for car thieves.

your 1.2 luxe would off been a mk2
the mk2 is the one with the fisher price facelift from 1990/1 onwards

They look the same to me. I know my mk1 mk2 and mk3 capris, the difference is obvious but I cant see it in the Nova. Maybe it the Cortina mk4 mk5 thing, Same shell just a few different bits and pieces.
Capri's rock my world tho, They are also the best cars to have sex in and on :P
I'll post some pics up of my old Nova and Capri's soon.
They look the same to me.
Mk1:

Mk2:

The main difference is that the Mk1's have the larger square headlights and the Mk2's have the grille piece that fits underneath the headlights. They also have different style bumpers etc etc..
Hope that helps :thumb:
Also the MK1/MK2 dash's are different, Mk1 dash is horrid and has alot of sharp corners that you can poke your eye out on, MK2 dash is more rounded and sexy.

Do and Don't;
Don't put a spoiler on a spoiler and avoid charva-esk lights, like so;

Do make it sexy, like so;

I do like that blue Nova, Very nice. Got to agree with you on the spoiler and lights issue. I seen a standard Rover 400 the other day driven by some OAP with the biggest spoiler on the boot I have ever seen, Couldent stop laughing at him.
Yeah I see the difference now with the MK1 and MK 2 Nova. I prefer the MK1 look.
I remember hunting high and low for a replacement hazzard light switch for my 1.2 Luxe, I was told it's a common fault on the Nova. Mine sent all the electrics mad LOL.
And Capri's and sex really do go hand in hand LOL. Ask my wife.:thumb:
Ben's nova makes me sexwee everytime i see it :roll:
Welcome to the forum matey :thumb:

Im afraid, for a rot "Free" (Theyre all rusty, some worse than others) you will look at paying £600-£800
Look at the shells in cars forsale, there is a very clean 13k mile shell, with service bits n bobs, only £600!
Whats your budget Mr. Nova-Monkey?

Hey Olly thats a fine looking Capri you got there, Same as mine except mine is in graphite grey, I never did like the 'special' model.
My Nova budget is about £300 LOL. Don't care if it's 90% rust just as long as it runs and has an MOT.
