Exhaust to manifold fitting?

Evening,

The brother has purchased a 2.25" 2box system from rally design and it arrived today. Quality is good and its pretty beasty, however we're trying to decide how to fit it...

The current manifold is a standard large bore 4-2-1 and exhaust at a really bad angle. The manifold is 2", and the exhaust doesn't come with a flange fitting either.

Can you get a flexi pipethat will go from 2" to 2.25"? Been looking on ebay but not much joy. Going to call rally design tomorrow to see if they suggest anything, customers must have asked it in the past.

you can get flexi pipe, and a diameter changer, not sure if you can get them as one item

You could problery have a flexi made specialy like that, but as jon says its prob best to just buy a dia changeer.

dont use flexi hose to join a manifold and centre section together, the engine moves about alot and will rip it apart very quickly and it will blow like a hore.

running solid mounts it'll be ok. i can't find a reducer :(

i would get a bigger manifold and use a 2 1/4 flexi join if it was me :)

If it's from RallyDesign it's an Ashley system right? They make a 4-2-1 manifold with a 2.25" bore to suit it, with sleeve fitment to match the system.

It is indeed from rally design but its the "imitation" Ashley system.

I had a look at manifolds, and all i can see are a 4-2-1 for an astra and a 4-1 for a cavalier

Nothing thats specific for a 2l 8v in a nova.

I'm tempted to go for the 2.25" system for my 2l 16v if I can find a manifold to fit it. Thinking 2" might be a little small?!

They are 2" as standard, standard manifolds are a crap design
