alrite chappies, my laptops been banned off the college network, so im just about to change the mac address so i can log back on, but the software needs full access to the registry, apparently even admin don't have that on vista, and i cant seem to enable them.
Ive done it through reg edit and full control is ticked for my user on all 5 HKLM folders, but still the software won't work, can anybody off any advice?
If its saying you don't have permission for something you may need to turn User Access Control off.

You don't need software to do that.
Go to control panel, network and sharing center, manage network connections (down the left), right click on the adapter in question, go to properties. Click configure, go to advanced, mac address, enter one, click OK.

but welsh dan, surely that only applies to hardware that comes with firmware that allows you to do so? as some netowrk devices can have a changeable MAC, and others have fixed?
anyway i already tried that and there was no mac address option, so i had no option really, disabling UAC worked btw, cheers for that!
i had to connect through my phone instead.. not as fast as college though lol

I've never seen one that didn't let you do that.
