I was talking to a lad at the weekend, he said he converted his Corsa drive shatfs to fit a Nova. He said all he did was regrind, with a dremmel, a groove in the shaft for a circlip to sit in. He did it further 'in' the splines to effectivly shorten the shaft.

Is this plausable?

Is he talking about the location of the shaft to CV or something different?

i doubt it mate, it probably worked for a few miles then poooed out abit.

could probably be done on a lathe, but is pointless. just buy the right shafts lol.

if it could be done, im sure the "shaft" companies would be putting in two groves, one for nova one for corsa...

It may have worked for years, but theres no gain!

Oh and manufacturers wouldnt put two lots of splines because it still wouldnt work and it would reduce strengh, not even to mention all the **** that could get inside the CV boot.
