When doing an XE conversion,do I need to use a gsi/gte fuel tank and rad?
This may sound a stupid question, but dont see the purpose of using a different fuel tank unless its bigger?!
Depends what tank you have atm, GTE/GSI is preferd due to the swirl pot.
Rad, dont need too, but just keep an eye on temps, and make sure your fan works.

Rad, make sure your hoses connect properly. 1600 Nova rad is biggest size available, some dont go full depth to the x-member.
If you use the GTE/GSi tank you need an external MPI pump. You can use a 1200/1400 Nova SPI tank, but need to switch to an internal MPI pump from an Astra/Cav/Calibra etc.
MPI - multi point injection
SPI - single point inj.

The car is a 1l spin
You only need to use a gte/gsi tank if you're converting from carb. The gte/gsi rad is a full length/size rad and therefore generally regarded as the best for the xe.

I've never used a derv rad on xe's baxter, all the hose connections are all in the wrong place.

Like i said, useless for an xe conversion.
/\no it wont, the pipes are in the wrong places. use any 1.2 to 1.6 petrol rad, and get a spi tank with mpi pump. you cant use the 1.0 tank as it has only 1 line.

the td is a fair bit bigger than a 1600 radiator..
yes, but the mounts are a ball ache and the pipes are a bit odd
if its a 1.0 spin to begin with check to see if you have the access cut out under the rear seat , if you have then a spi tank with mpi pump would be fine , if not then fit a gte/gsi tank and external pump :thumb:
