Here I am selling my much loved Vauxhall Nova.
As you can see from the pics it’s a clean example with sensible mods.
Bought the car standard and put a 1.4sr engine in to start off with. Ran it for a year and then decided to go down the 2.0ltr route. Whilst looking for a 2.0 16v I come across the 2.0ltr 8v engine and decided to put this in after fully rebuilding it.
Mods are as follows;
• 2.0ltr 8v engine (20ser) which is from an Astra GTE. Engine was fully rebuilt in June 2008 including new big end bearings, big end bolts, clutch kit, head gasket, head bolts, thermostat, water pump, timing belt, alternator, alternator belt, hydraulic tappets, Kent cam (ast15), 4 branch manifold, dizzy, rotor arm, leads and platinum plugs, GSI radiator. Also a 2.0ltr mounting kit from Chris Astley Motor Sport.
• Fully resprayed in June 2008 with the whole car stripped and the engine out
• Lowered on 60mm g-max springs front g-max shockers and rear bilstein shockers
• Big bearing hubs on the front
• GSI anti-roll bar
• GSI skirts
• Full stainless steel magnex exhaust system
• Blue sr interior
• Digi dash
• Electric windows
• Rear disc beam axle
• 2.0ltr front discs 256mm (brembo discs and ferodo premier pads)
• Rose jointed gear linkage (made to be a short shift to)
• 15” alloys with new yokohama S-Drives 195/45/15 (only covered 1000 miles)
• 15” spare with part worn yokohama A539 195/45/15
• New copper brake pipes all round (apart from front to rear’s)
• 12” Mutant sub and Kenwood amp (no head unit though)
The car has been my pride and joy for the last 2 years and whatever the car has needed it’s got, no expense spared. I am a mechanic there for spent a lot of time to make everything as good as it possibly can be for the car.
The car will come with 12 MOT and taxed till Feb 2010
The car is still a 1.2 on the log book but I had it insured as a 2.0ltr so the buyer can do as they please.
I have just been to the nerburgring in it in June this year and the car made it there and back with 4 laps of the ring with no hesitation what so ever.
I have done a ¼ mile run in the car and the best time out of 4 was 15.4 seconds.
Many of you may over look this nova as it’s not a 2.0ltr 16v but in my opinion it’s just as fast as a 16v nova without the well known problems i.e. clutch cable, matrix pipes and so on.
Reason for sale is I am a really a ford fan and have just bought an Escort RS Turbo so no p/x thanks. As you can see from the pics the car is tidy and also well looked after.
The Reg of the car is now K24 EEO as the other reg is a personal one.
