c20xe valve compressor

hey people

i have been lapping in my valves and rebuilding my head, but my spring compressor isnt big enough for the 2 middle cyclinders. as i can reach the outside ones from the ends, but when i go to do the middle ones the spring compressor hits the edge of the head

has anyone else had this problem?

and if so what did you do.

im thinking of cutting and shutting my spring compressor

had the same problem with my 16xe. ive got the draper compressors. ground off the rivets and welded on a couple inches onto the bit that goes around the collet. worked a treat. i left the holes where the rivets go and bolted it back together so i can always change it back.

actually do you mean that the frame of the compressor hits the out side of the head when i had to do it i think it didnt compress far enough into where the tappet goes and hits the edge of the bucket.
