View Full Version : 1.0l nova
hi, i bought this little 1.0l corsa a/nova today it ia a 1992. now that i am nearly finished bulding my 1.6 16v autocross nova i am going to put this nova on the road when i turn 17 in 10 months so i have a good bit of time to get it ready. the body needs a bit of work on the left rear arch and the corners in the boot and a bit of rust in the engine bay. i am keeping the 1.0l engine for a while but i might fit a 1.2 or 1.3. my plans so far are:
. fix body work. mabey a full respray.
. gsi spoiler and skirts. or gte i dont know what u call them lol
. lower 60mm.
. 16v 256 mm discs and callipers on the front.
if anyone has any more ideas to do to the car let me let me know :thumb:
here is a rew pics:

looks like a good startin point, wouldnt bother putting a 1.2 in tho.
ya i might wait a while till the insurance comes down then fit a 1.4l. i have a 1.2l engine+box in my shead so i thought i might fit it.

if you already have a good 1200 carb engine and box then I'd fit that, far better engine in my eyes and can be played about with. Wouyldn't bother with a 1200 spi though, good luck with the project
Change the wheels asap :thumb: IMO
not keep on the corsa 3 spokes on novas.
Tidy looking motor mate :d
ya i will change the wheels. what other wheels would suit it?
most 15" vaux alloy will suit it IMO,
Comp Mo's / TH's FTW
ok thanks. will most 15" fit without rubbing off the arches when lowered?
here is a few pics of the rust http://blitzandgriffin.11.forumer.com/images/smiles/icon_sad.gif. the lad i bought the car off said the back was lowered 60mm but when i jacked up the car the back springs fell out so i looked under the car and the top chasice was rotten and the springs were nearly gone through the floor http://blitzandgriffin.11.forumer.com/images/smiles/icon_sad.gif but my father is fairly handy with a welder!
here is a pic of the 15" wolfrace alloys on but i need low profile tyres!

i removed the engine/gearbox/shafts/hubs/suspension/exhaust/bootlid and drivers door today. tomorrow i am going to remove other door/ back axel/ front seats and carpet. i am going to make a jig that will turn the car car around so i can work on the bottom of the car.

here is a few pics i have the car is stripped down but i am leaving in the windows/glass/dashboard/roof cloth. i made a bracket for the front and back so i can lift the car up each end with a pully blox/chain blow from the roof of the shead and turn the car upside down and work on the bottom of it.
