I would, but thats because holding a gasket on the underside of a car, while putting a sump over it and trying to keep bolt holes lined up and keeping it there with one hand while trying to get a bolt in with the other annoys the f*ck out of me lol

Gm says only use it over the oil pump cap seal and the crack cap seal, Thats all i did one my xe and it was fine, did it with my let and its was leaking from the pump end.

Yes, thats the 8v one. I wouldnt use sealer. Make sure the surfaces are clean, oil free etc and this should do the job. Clean out all bolt holes aswell. Dont want bolts tightening down on crud, hence not being tight.

Remeber the 8v one will need shorter bolts than the 16v as they 'bottom out' before fully tightening, iirc the epc state m6x20

use grease around both side of the gasket it works

i always get the x20xev gasket at the dealer.

biggest problem is the sump... people always tighten them wrong, and the bend a little causing them to leak.
i had mine skimmed and its not leaking.

hmmmmm

The 2.0 8v gasket is all-in-one bonded baffle gasket, the standard C20XE one is 2 seperate cork gaskets that sandwich that baffle plate..

I've not long put an 8v sump gasket on mine, and it still leaks, so after Billing and going to whip it off and put a bead of sealer all the way round, top and bottom to help it..

Whats the difference between the 20NE and XEV? Or why use an XEV over an 20NE?

i was told years ago they stopped leaking and have used them and they work so i stick with what i knew looks exactly like the ne one tbf

just went to have a look for it to take a picture and cant find the fecking thing only saw it the other week when i sorted the garage out so i could put the saloon away but think its at the back of the storage bit and its a night mare to get through
