Well here where my story begins, well as some of you know i wanted to purchase alloys for my corsa.... now i had a butchers around the internet and i found that they were very expensive and i would have to fit them myself. and tbh i couldnt be bothered to do that.
Well i decided after a short period of time that i would go to halfords to purchase my lovely alloys and new tyres for my vehicle... so at 4 oclock i set off to halfords to buy them... happy as can be.. £400 in hand.
Got to said store and choose me a perfect set of 15inch 5 spoke for my corsa... well chuffed...
this is where it all goes wrong...
I asked them about where i can pull up my car for them to fit the alloys (as it states online £29.99) to fit any alloy to your vehicle... only to be told that they do not fit alloys , so annoyed and with no alloys i set off back home... when i noticed a alloy fitting place.. so i pulled in and asked how much they would charge if i took the alloys to him and asked him to fit them.. he said £5 a tyre to fit... GREAT! but they close in half hour so i had to be quick !
I was on my way back to hallfords happy as larry .... i returned and said i wished to buy the alloys .... the daft slow git at halfords had to find the 'reference book' to make sure the alloys would fit my vehicle ..... after around 10 minutes he found it and said that these alloys WILL fit my car GREAT lets have them then ?
no no no he had to get a trolly to put the alloys on to wheel to my car... (it was me and my mate we could have grabbed 2 wheels each and be off with them) but he insisted to do it this way... FINE!! 10 minutes later they were in my car... now only 10 minutes left to get to the wheel fitters.
oh fitting kit ! 10 minutes to find the 'correct' fitting kit for the wheels... too late...
so i left with the wheels and the fitting kit ready to see if they had stayed open 5 minutes longer... they hadnt....
So £319.99 out of pocket and 4 alloys and noone to fit'em... driving around to find a place that was open ...AND I FOUND ONE ! pulled up and asked them how much to fit the alloys on £45 for the lot.... not bad i thought after everything that had happened....
so car jacked up and front right tyre removed, new one out and fitting kit out.... what did the guy say next ? 'this is the wrong fitting kit mate'
As you can imagion i was fuming at the **** at halfords giving my the wrong one ! .. however the guy at the fitters said 'dnt worry tho mate you dnt need a fitting kit, idealy you do but we can fit them without' HAPPY DAYS! .......after getting the new bolts out and putting one shiney new alloy on with one bolt ... he remarked 'These alloys dont fit mate... the alloys are wrong...the holes dont match up... these wheels WONT fit your car'
WFT? so the guy had given me the wrong alloys for my vehicle after 10 MINUTES of checking if they fit AND the wrong fitting kit !!
anyway cut a longggggggggggggggg story short i went back and got my money back and i swear never to go there again in my life ! so im going to topgear in hayes tomorrow and hope they can do me a better deal.... i.e put on wheels that will fit !
thanks novaboi, i didnt relise there was 4 pages to it so i only read the first page,
Benn can you fill us in on anymore things that happened lol. i need a giggle lol

'I can fit wheels i have been a machanic for a while, i do not have the space or the time to do it .. i would be more than willing to pay someone else to do it, for sake of me being lazy but thats not the point ... even if i was fitting them ... they were all wrong cos of halfords'
'A mechanic for a while, thought you would know PCD from ET.'
'mmm or im really pissed off atm and got it wrong ? why having a go? though you would be sympathetic .. obviously not'
Hes been a mechanic for a while, and yet he'd want to PAY someone £45 to change his wheels? what a ****ing tool!
i would of told him for £35 they didnt fit lol
Everyone mocked him...
I wonder what for, he seems like a clever and knowledgeable chap to me........
Fcuking LOL lollollollollollol

in the time he spent driving around, trying to find a place that done it, he could have fitted the wheels himself!
£45 to fit four wheels. he must have more money then sence surely.
bastrd i saw this thread on mig last night but didnt look at it!! lmoa what tw@t!

In all honesty, i do empathise with the lad, when i buy something for a car i hardly ever check if its the right part number, but then again i would have gone in and given the details of the item i needed, rather than the car.
he should have fitted them himself, would have taken 7-10 minutes?
he can't be that experienced, going to halfords and trying to get someone to fit them lol

That is like saying, 'NO I wouldnt bolt on someones 4 wheels for £45'.
Comical story tbh. I'm pretty lazy & poorly motivated at times, but thats on a new level. There are some grade-A noobs on MIG these & it shows.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to brainsnova again:roll:
it must be on corsa c..........
that is right up there with the lad walking into a dealer asking about where does the oil go... he'd been looking for the filler cap, but could only find one with 710 on it.........

LOL, what about the water in the engine, to flush it out? and being told to run it for a few mins!
Is it Adam D that filled his entire engine up with coolant?
lol

Someone on here/mig, chucked a coolant hose onto an oil breather or something lol Has a pic of coolant in the top of the tb. Engine still runs now apparently!

since when have corsa alloys been too expensive? :wtf:
so he then went to get ripped off by halfords, and being a mechanic forgot to make sure the pcd and offset were correct :wtf:
and then wanted someone to fit the wheels for him...for £45 lol

as stupid as it sounds yes that is exactly what he wanted lol, thats like triple fail
i think he was a mechanic only in his own imagination
lol at that as said he obviously hast a clue
but you dont even need to be a mechanic to change a set of wheels! If he IS a mechanic im not sure I wanna know what state the rest of his car is in. Cut rear springs held in place with cable ties perhaps!?!? lol lol lol lol
What a whopper, like you wouldn't check before you handed over your money, patience is obviously somethin he lacks and just wanted a set of alloys on his car fast, surely he must of known he was going to get abused posting that thread up
0 common sense...
