My Nova SRI 1992 'J' reg project thread.


bought the car late August. its a 1.4 8V with full service history, 3 owners and 94,000miles.
The interior is as new, not a mark on it, had seat covers over it most of its life so i intend to do the same to keep them that way. the car has a gsi kit and wheels on it. the only thing i would say about the car is that the paint needs TLC, but it wouldn't be a project car if everything was done ;)
the only modifications are:
Koni adjustables
Prospeed exhaust system
The exhaust is still under warrenty and the koni's are only a couple of months old.

I love driving the car, always puts a smile on my face, and it gets attention where ever it goes due to not seeing many of them around anymore.

My plans for the car is:

-Cesaros Done
-ful shell respray after winter
-v6 brakes
-laguna splitter
-lowered 60mm
-find a pin stripe colour i like in the bumpers

the Cesaros will be getting sand blasted soon and will be getting painted vauxhall silver lightning :D

my tyres for the cesaros arrived today aswel, cant wait tot get them on :D

Tidy car mate looking good. Is the paint work that bad that she needs a respray? The paint looks fine from what I can tell from the photo.

Interior is mint like you said. Like the fact that you are going for subtle mods nice :thumb:

cheers buddy :) yeah its tidy but some places on the paint need attention. no rust or anything but parts of it are messy, so rather than having those bits done, might awswel do it all :D

yeah its staying subtle aswel. 1.4 staying in it but with a few nice spec bits on/ in it.

Cool mate, should handle well with the small block and a good suspension setup. What are you considering for the 'few nice spec bits'?

Looks tidy, it needs the original bumpers IMO. You dont see many Black Novas about tbh.

yeah it should handle well once ive got my cesaro's on, ive bought new toyo px4e's, i had them on my corsa seem quite good so i bough another set for these wheels. im going to turn the koni up a few clicks aswel. get it abit stiffer. I think i will be going be going for a red pin stripe, put a blue one on the other day and didn't like it.

will probably buy another 1.4 engine and rebuild that and get some head work done on it with a nice cam and pulley with a good set up. dont want to ruin the car and put a bigger lump in it.

the wheels are on the car now :D feels much better to drive, handles better aswel. can get cracking with other things now

so the car is quite rare being a black 'j' plate aswel then? cool :D

i will be getting new pictures up soon with the new wheels on. wont be spending much money on the car now though, bought a clio sport the other day. i am keeping the nova for a while though, not getting rid of it that easy lol
