Is underway...

Its a vauxhall so im getting there slowly, But its not mine lol...

Its a friends corsa and at the moment its being prepped up for a full hit, The car is now in primer and today im going to start flatting it all. Its having a full shell outside paint with door edges etc the inside is covered so no real need to paint that. Engine bay is also being done in the same colour.

Hopefully, i'll be painting it next weekend as im only working weekends on it... Should be funn, One problem is that im not using a proper booth so im not 100% sure how this is going to turn out as yet.

Well time has come to reshell Fran's GSI, ( thread here http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=351996&page=3 )

The shell will need some work so we thought it would be easier to reshell and get it mint.

A nice road trip down to Northampton, boring driving at less than 60mph.

Underside now finished bar the touching up when it comes off the axle stands and also cut and flared the arches, need a little bit more tidying but 90% done and also had a first coat of black...

This is going to be used to save the GSi that Fran currently has, so I have 2 cars on the go :D so the Grey GSi that we are reshelling will live to see another day as my run about :)

C'est un paint, it has come out very well considering we had no booth (got let down at the last minute) and we had to hire a compressor. No doubt it will need flatting and polishing but Fran is chuffed with it. A big thanks to GARY!! bumpers and other bits to do next week, although I will be building bits up again this week.

Mr dave and Mrs Fran hired a 100l compressor for the shell/roof/bonnet/bootlid. This kept a good 2bar which baseing up. Come to clear it did struggle a little bit so i ended up doing the clear at 2.5bar. Clear was heated first mind just to get it going off quicker as it was friggin cold.

It was solvant base with a 2k HS clear 2:1 no thinner. There are a couple of things im not happy with but, thats due to lack of extraction and again it was painted in a unit lol. Nothing a flat and polish wont solve. I was expecting the clear to drop tbh, but its been left for a week " i know it should be flatted within a couple of days" but im impressed with the clear. Considering mine cost a **** load more on the scooby lol.

And i really need a haircut lolz thats shocking, might lash it off in a min.

Got two bumpers left to paint and then its left for mr dave and mrs fran to build up.

Weekend jobs are a full proper clean, then in the next week or two is to wire gauges in, swap steering wheels, pickup new induction hoses, get the speedo working :mad:
