hey guys, iv got my mot booked tomorrow at 3pm, got my x16xe running in my nova but now the imobiliser/key chip thingy is playing up.

had it running fine earlier now iv moved it into a tidier place and now wont run for any longer than 3 seconds.

tried all connections and all is fine.

does the key chip/transponder need to be a certain distance apart or what?

please help.

cheers.

Transponder chip needs to be within about 10mm from the immobiliser control unit (black ring round the ign barrel)

What exactly have you tidied since you move it all around - must be a bad connection in the wiring if it was OK before

if it only runs for around 5secs then its imobliser.

Check connections and i found depending where the chip is on the ring makes it work better.

Have you taped it to the black plastic ring? (i.e. not the flat bit where the plug is)
