Its ok not that fast just a standard pinto with a single 40 webber on it might be about 100bhp but it would be about 200 bhp per ton guess

very live at the rear :d :d happy with that

No im not going to take the engine out the nova for it as that is still sitting waiting a testing day before i sell it

Plans may change a little as now im thinking i might go down the weight saving route and put a bike engine in it still in 2 minds just now tho could get it under 500kgs with 150bhp that should be more than enough for some fun

Right well this weekend i have managed to get a buyer for the pinto engine out the car. So now i need to make up my mind what i want to run. My first plan off cossie lump????? Or this weekend i have found a cheap redtop that i could get alot of work done to it for the cost of a cossie. And also i have the chance of a cheap ZX10 engine to put in her???? I just dont know what do you guys think???

tbh these things are nigh on undriveable cossie powered, would probably be quicker car with the zx10 engine due to weight and useable power!

but the xe is a cheap reliable route and piuece of piss to fit. (although you dont tend to use the easier way)

No i would like it to be a bit different to the norm

A standard cossie to stage1 would be ok with a good diff insert

Do you know the weight of a XE?? the pinto and type9 box weighs 180kgs so with that out my car is 400kgs bang on so would be light enough for the bike engine but they dont drive well unless your kicking there ass

also for your unsprung susspension setup help if you need it, these are based on magnesium centers with ally rims, weight of wheel with tyre & air

Avon CR500 185x13x6.5 front = 7.9kg
Avon CR500 205x13x8.5" Rear = 10.5kg

Im yet to weigh the wheels with R888's on, but still impressive weight with tyre :P

1 warning which i found out the hard way...

your old fast road routes, dont go down them as fast if there is small humps and stuff as i found myself 2 feet in the air on a night drive a few weeks back when i forgot how light my car is!!!

I have a few friends with Bike engines in there's 2 of them use the Honda Blackbird, and one has a Busa engine. The one thing to remember with "BEC" locost 7, or any other marque, that they are clunky as fook! and you need to build in a reverse as obviously bikes dont have these..

But once they are on the move you really can't beat the noise of a Blackbird 7 coming past your head at silly speeds :), but get them in a slighty bumpy lane and my heavier car will pull lengths as they bounce across the road. So in essance, light is good but too light is bad for the road....

Somthing up your street, this one runs over 300bhp and is VERY drivable, unless of course your stupid lol

Change of plan now

I got offered good money at the weekend for the car as it is so it is now sold
So this thread can be removed.

I now have bought a national hot rod so the nova might be back up for sale or may split and keep the engine
