Been pedantic you could argue it does fit into that category as i dont recall any nova coming from the factory with the underside and arches painted the same colour as the car.

C50SLN(Trying to refrain from saying Dec's old one) looks like a scale model in the aerial photos!

In which case i shall rephrase, there is no rust to touch up on that car as it is an amalgamtion of two rotten nova shells with the cleanest rot free bits getting welded together to create the current rot free base for a nova sport, happy rick?
and yet again rick draper proves how small his winky/brain is. pedantic get.

Suck my twadger.
Dec has done a amazing job on the nova with fantastic results. I know he was undecided which shell to use, a mint a reg iirc or the sport shell that was pretty tatty. In the end he used the sport one and added new panels where needed.

Aye took him a long time to make the decision iirc, even though it wouldve made more financial sense to use the A reg rather than cut it up:cry:
Still a stunning car though:thumb:

I think in the picture's it's the brown A plate shell that got all the sills cleaned up for the bodyshop and the one with the headlining getting masked shows a brown interior/paint
Vaughan is correct, he used the rot free brown shell so my original comment stands rick :p
rick = pwned by spud, suck spuds twadger dikk raper.

From what I believe all the Sport stuff/details etc were transferred onto the brown shell as it was cleaner than the original Sport's shell
Aye ive had a trawl through his thread on mig and he used enough of a percentage of the original car to justify transferring the id of the sport across to the A reg shell:thumb:
Didnt think you could do it that way Creg onto An Areg thought it would have to a Creg or newer to do that????

You cannot use a chassis/shell of another registered vehicle unless it goes onto a Q plate, its ringing I suppose.
What difference does it make if it's a reshell or not ??
Still one of the best.
he used the sport shell in the end i thought....

Even if it was a reshell:roll: , Dec isnt going to be bothered. He's gonna be happy, the cash is sat in his bank account!:d

ERm i think you will find he used the sport shell, they used panels and such from the brown A reg shell.
He wanted to use the correct shell for ocd ness.

As I'm using the brown shell the rear seat mounts are different (thanks Rich for pointing that out http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/images/smilies/doh.gif ) So I made up some brackets to utilise the original pegs.

Thanks Rick
No, it's the Sport shell which has been repaired. I couldn't use the Brown shell as the chassis number or rear sear brackets wouldn't have been correct.
However, all the panels (doors, wings, tailgate and bonnet) are from the brown car. They also transferred quite a lot of metal from the brown shell as well as some new repair sections, a lot of work (and money) has gone into achieving the end result...
Dec
it's got the correct sport number?

Oh yeah, correct SPORT chassis number... :) (the grey bit is where I blanked off the last few digits)

Mustve fitted it from the sport as the day before paint he was buzzing back and primering the sills on the brown shell:thumb:

i waas gonna say them spot welds look mighty uneven, where the brace runs across the floor. i reckon its been changed. still top effort, and tbh id do exactly the same in that situation. and if he didnt use the brown un, wheres the shell?

Aye i did but he seems to have deliberately left misleading evidence in that thread so that if he did ring it there is no evidence to prove it.
Im quitting from this one now as its just going to go on and i cba, if it is its a good one, if its not then fair play good skills!
aye, end of the day, the nova look's stunning, i wouldn't care if he did or didn't :)

You cannot use a chassis/shell of another registered vehicle unless it goes onto a Q plate, its ringing I suppose.
surely ya can if you declare the chassis nunbers on the tax book,,, i thought a Q is only if any identity (damaged numbers) cannot be identified,or was a trike or kit car chassis using doner parts fron the scrap yard,
i'v seen plenty of trikes and kit cars with proper reg numbers because they have the full identity from a complete doner.
ringing is cutting out the chassis number and fitting it to a stolen car,
fitting the chassis plate,or floor section is a close call to be worthy of either being a Q, or called a ringer, for the fact that your cutting out the old number then you have removed all chances of prooving its not stolen.
down to individual choice in the end,in my opinion
ps: under rear right arch,bumper,q/pannel area,, couple of touch in's,very well detailed and brown rust is visible. no bull.
when i was there,i heard a guy tellin his mate the car was untouched, mint, never painted and the like.... Bull!
still a lovely car but to get a prize for modified is disgusting,,
should have been best nut and bolt rebuild.
nice pic there william
PS you gerls get in some tizzy lol
benn, read my post's above ;)
Ah thought i was right... To many shells...lol

;)
I wouldnt have the nerve to collect trophies & take the credit for someone elses entire work.
Congratulations to Martin on his win, I'm so pleased the Sport is being shown and continues to pick up the silverware!!!! I spoke to Martin yesterday actually, great guy. Loving the mirrors and tire plates, would love to have done this myself :)
Martin recons a day doesn't go by when someone pops in to the showroom to view the Nova.... couldn't have gone to a better home :)
I'm not even going to get started on the shell debate, you've seen the chassis number photo, you've seen the correct rear seat brackets, you know I used some panels from the brown car.... do I need to show you the £XXXX's reciept for all the work I spent having the Sport shell repaired to this standard?
One of the reasons for selling the Sport (only a small one mind) was because of all the bitching and scrutinising by the so-called 'purists.' And how many of them have built a car (let alone a Sport) to this standard......?? Exactely
C50 SLN is a genuine example, as verified by Andrew Drueden, case closed as far as I'm concerned.
Good luck to Martin and I may the Sport live on.
