Im thinking of going for a full cage in the VXR to stiffen the car up but i would like to still have use of the back seats, would it make much of a difference if i removed the rear diagonal but welded in a rear brace between the wheel wells?

I have though about it, this is just an idea to save time/effort.

to keep rear seats, you'd need a fairly serious redesign. the bars would go where the passengers shoulders need to be

I though the 6 point bolt in cage rear points dont foul the seats? Or is that just the half cages..

Leave the x out, but put a brace as high up as you can on the legs behind the seats.

gunny, either fit a decent one or just don't bother wasting your hard earned cash on it.. a half cage adds nothing to the safety of a car, but it looks cool

A half cage would help stop the roof coming down above your head surely? Though not having harnesses means the cage is a hazard in itself.

Gunny, why not get a removable rear diagonal?

I wasn't on about fitting a half cage mowgli, what im saying is that i though the rear points on the cages mount here:

Meanin that with the rear diagonal removed the seats wouldn't be renderred useless and i could weld a rear brace in to replace the rigidity the diagonal offers.

i still think it would be dangerous for rear passengers
