This is advertised on Pistonheads & now Autotrader. I had sold it on eBay, but the buyer didn't show up in two weeks so I'm re-advertising.

Much loved and cared for car, immaculate condition throughout. Every MOT certificate and FULL SERVICE HISTORY from new, including all receipts from the previous 10 years (last serviced in December 2008 - no receipt as this was done by a personal friend who specialises in older cars).

The car is totally standard - I have only upgraded the stereo & security. I also didn't replace the metal badge on the bonnet when restored, but I prefer it without.

2 immobilisers (Thatcham fitter's certificate included) + alarm, remote central locking, electric windows & manual sunroof (tilt & slide).

8 months MOT, Taxed until December 2009.

I sold the car in December 2006 when I moved abroad, but when I returned home, I tracked it down (in Holland), bought it back and had it restored. When I sold it 1st time round it had 5 Previous owners, but in the 18 months I didn't own it, it had 3 different owners (1 was just for somebody to buy a tax disc in Britain before I bought it). In this 18 months it had covered only 800-900 miles as it was in storage, with the intention of having it restored back to new (which I have now done). The 2 owners that had it in this time were both mechanics and had already done some welding and servicing, including new engine mounts. I have their contact details.

Interior is immaculate (my 12 month old courtesy car interior was in worse condition), 5 good tyres, wheels are in great condition (spare alloy), the 4 wheels on the car have no scuffs or curbing at all. I also have a spare set of wheels which will be included. In the past year, I have spent around £900 on mechanical work & tyres to get it as perfect as possible (receipts for this). Then a further £1,500 on bodywork.

Paintwork professionally re-sprayed in late April this year, along with a full body restoration - i.e. any corrosion removed & rebuilt throughout. All under-sealed. Over £1,500 spent on this work. It has had all 4 arches relpaced, so they should be rust free for quite a few years. I was involved in a bump (3rd party at fault!) in June and it went back to the body shop under the insurance, where £1,600 worth of work was carried out to the front o/s of the car. This included a new front bumper, wing, suspension arm, headlamp, indicator and grille (photos and engineer's report included, also showing an independent valuation of the car at £2,750). All are genuine GM parts imported from Germany by Grove Coachworks, Chingford.

The car is very very clean and in amazing condition. Drives beautifully!

Sympathetic-to-interior JVC stereo with high quality Pioneer speakers front and back (door cards & parcel shelf have been cut to accommodate these, but all have been professionally fitted). I also spent £100 on a specialist speaker shelf, which gives the appearance of a standard, uncut shelf, which is also included - I took this out as the weight of the shelf was wearing on the brackets. I also have the original Vauxhall-Philips stereo somewhere.

A very reluctant sale, it's been with me for 9 years on & off, but it has to go as I have a new car lined up and I can't afford to keep two - I would if I could, it's my 1st car!

Only bad points I can think of are: Worn parcel shelf bracket (easy to DIY or replace but doesn't cause me a problem), split rubber gearstick boot/gaiter (was quoted £10 from a breaker's yard), rear windscreen washer not working and temperature gauge not working - I've had new sensors & switches fitted [receipts] but apparently it's just a wire that keeps coming loose behind the dash.

Other than the recent knock, it has had a couple of minor knocks in the past decade where the n/s front wing and driver's door have been replaced - due only to panels being dented beyond repair - nothing mechanical. I wasn't given receipts for these as I claimed from the third party's insurance on both occasions, but I can tell you both bodyshops that did the work, which are local to me.

I have taken many other photos including the interior, engine bay & common Nova rust spots, that I can't fit on the ad. If you would like to see more, please contact me & I'll email them to you.

That's true, I put it on eBay & gave the guy 2 weeks to pick it up, which he didn't. I am now re-advertising.

I've put it up for £2,750 ono (this is what the 3rd party's insurance company valued it at). I'm in Epping, Essex. Cheers for the advice.

Cheers, it's as clean as I've ever seen one anyway.

It sold for £2125. I started the bidding at 2k. Was expecting a bit more for it than that, but I honored my eBay commitments and accepted the sale (which didn't happen anyway). I was offered £2,500 but they've now got another one as I told them it had sold. I would probably take that if anyone is interested? Otherwise, I'll re-list it for auction when I can.

It's not perfect, i.e. hasn't been completely stripped to a bare metal shell, but the guy who did my bodywork assures me anything worth doing has been done. I've been told the small amount of surface/superficial stuff is all ok and not troublesome. All the inner arches & underneath have been coated/undersealed and behind the bumpers have been rebuilt & re-sprayed. I think there have been a couple of welds in the past - 1 under the hood & I think 1 on the chassis? I'll check my receipts for this. There are no holes anyway! I'll post some more detailed pictures of the common places very soon.

Here are some close ups of the very worst stuff I could find on the car. I could take more photos of the very clean parts as well - this is just to show any imperfections. Some of the photos (i.e. the ones in the boot) are more dirt than rot - just needs a clean. Anything that was an issue has been dealt with (No leaks, holes, etc). Also around the battery tray, etc is mostly dirt & water from where I've washed it. The crack is basically just the Vauxhall sealant becoming overly dry and looks far worse than it is. If you know about Novas, I'm sure you can all work it out for yourselves anyway. It really needs a good clean under the hood and it will come up nicely.

I've had as much done to it as possible, without it turning into a ridiculous job - i.e. rebuild the whole car from scratch. It has always been a solid and genuine car anyway so I thought best not to mess around. All 4 arches are new by the way.

Also the spare tyre pictured has recently been replaced with a better one, so all 5 are good.

Last full service was done about 5,000 or 6,000 miles ago - December I think. Since then I've spent £100's (unnecessarily really) just because I wanted my Nova perfect.

This is going back on eBay for a starting bid of £2000. I'll take whatever it sells for as I need it gone. The recent work on the body is worth £2000 alone! The car is incredibly clean & most importantly drives spot on. It's never been messed around with and is an authentic GSI that has been brought back to how it should be. FULL SERVICE HISTORY FROM NEW! (Part Vauxhall). If anyone wants one of these, they need to check this out as it really is a good car.

Yes, but that's the only 'hole' anywhere on the car & the reason I pictured it. I've checked it out and it is solid. The hole is tiny and is only localised to that point where it's connected to the floor. It's a very solid car & there is no way I'd waste over £2,000 on getting it right if it was a state in the first place.
