Well coming back from a 40 mile journey on Saturday i pulled onto a dual carriageway and my cav td hesitated as if it was running out of diesel, anyway i dropped the revs and it stopped and i carried on til i got nearly home when it did the same again then cut out.Took about 20secs of turning it over before it started again.Got home and it died as i pulled up.I had ran it on bio diesel all week and was told that the solvent in this cleans the tanks.Blocked fuel filter i thought maybe, went and got a new filter today and its still doing it,i put a few quids worth of proper diesel in and that has made no difference.Give it some beans and pulls strong in 1st and 2nd and then in 3rd it just goes flat then if you let off iot will die, coast along then let the clutch out and it goes again!
Im out of ideas, anybody have any suggestions similar experiences?
Any help is always appreciated

Costs more because it's a bargain and therefore more in demand. lol

Wheres that from Baxter?
I think its summat to do with the bio diesel but the plant owner assured me it would be ok,and only put a a tenners worth in (16l) as he said you have to do it in increments, that said he could have been talking excrement LOL

change the filter, put a full tank of diesel in, when it gets to 3/4 fill it back up with bio,

then empty the tank, then 50/50 it, you should really heat the bio up before it goes into the engine

You think that will cure it mate?
Dya reckon hes put too much in then as i was just under quarter of a tank when he added 16l of bio which took it up to just under half a tank.It was fine till i went into the reserve!

i think its cleaned it to much lol

i put 1ltr of petty in with every 100ltrs i put in, to give it a swill lol

Hmmm but surely if it had bunged up the filter, replacing it with a new one should have solved it? or are you thinking it could have blocked up elsewhere maybe?

General Baxter

block some where else

Andy
05-10-09, 07:15 PM
ahh, strip down and clean or just stirling moss it everywhere til it clears? lol

General Baxter

Update-it seems to have fixeded itself.
I went to the gym in it earlier and it cut out at the top of my street lol
Gave it a £10ers worth of diesel to see if that helped, which it has.It now starts up 1st time again with no smoke lol
Now seems fine, kicked its c*nt in all the 4 miles home and didnt cut out.
