"Has a few bad points turbo smokes on tick over but not on boost needs new oil seals".
what do u think please???
or do u know anyone with one for sale?
Will be oil seals - very common on the KKK - recon units are around 4-5oo, secondhand units are £150 ish.

thank you. so i should be to put off by it then. where can i get second hand ones from?
I wouldn't be bothered by it, just take into account that is going to need replacing, check ebay or mig for secondhand units
As long as it is the turbo and not the engine I would be too bothered - but make out that you are and get £00's off!
If its the stem seals or rings walk away
depends if your planning on rebuilding it. If you are i wouldnt be to worried at least hes being honest.
Suspicous would be "yeah its perfect no smoke doesnt leak never been driven hard"

I find that whatever problems people tell you, it is ALWAYS worse when you get there! lol
disconnect the boost pipe from the inlet, run it NA, if it still smokes its either rings or stem seals. If it dont its turbo related.
