lol. Cockney ryhming slang is epic fail most of the time. As it takes longer to say the slang than the actual words!

Bees and honey = money. :/ Shortened to bees it is OK but still needless and gay.

In LDN you can chose cockney rhyming slang as an option on some ATM machines ffs. lol

Its not meant to be quicker limp lol

The origins of it are mega unclear, but allegedly it was widely used in the East End to evade prying ears as to illegal goings, used on the markets between traders & things like that. Allegedly anyway.

If you went down an east end weekend market, as most non londoners actually do whilst visiting London, the locals would be carping on about something you wouldnt understand, when in actualy fact there most probably be saying "look at these tourist prinks who dont have a clue were ripping them" kinda thing lol lol

Aye, I know it's origins. Just seems to be used in a different way these days lol.
Del Boy barely used it, and he got on fine when dodging the dibble. lol

mowgli

del boy & rodney didn't use it because

#1: the show was aimed at export & foreigners wouldn't understand it

#2: the writers weren't witty enough to use it

#3: the cockney rhyming slang is from the east end... not from peckham which it south of the river

When i worked for Barclays moons ago, the SAME job in central London paid an extra £4.8kp/a compared to where I am in the Midlands.

Ive been back to the address on my birth cert, an also back to the ward where i first popped my little head out to the world. Was very strange indeed lol

Dunno, but the deer are still in Finsbury park like they were when i was small so not much has changed lol

Well we lived in a few places TBH, close to the Farm (which was nice :( ) then not far from the Arsenal ground, then onto Leytonstone in the East End suburbs & eventually bailed outta London in favour of the Midlands.
