Now say these words.... as they are, without any accent.

Ligature, Yeff, Gutter, Fierce, Lake, Appearer, Tets.

Or...

Look at you. You've got a face like a pair of tits.

Whats the difference between a Kangaroo and a Kangaroot?

Ones a Kangaroo, the others a Geordie stuck in a lift.

Funniest Geordie impersonation in this thread, the fist a divvint eevan git mesel.

Sunderlanders are Mackems and not Geordies, calling a Mackem a Geordie or vice versa would most likely get you a visit to hospital.

last time i checked geordies arent a race
there wasnt 200 years or geordie slavery. nor a music genre purely based on geordies.

But can you tell a Durham accent from a Geordie one?

It doesn't matter what part of the North east you come from, you're a Geordie to a southerner lol I know man. It's crap lol. I'm not a mackem mind, I'm right between Sunderland and Durham, so have a neutral NE accent but I'm certainly no disillusioned barcode! lol

They make me laugh, take the pi$$ out of people from Sunderland saying wee's keys are these keys?' (which I've never heard anyone say bar a geordie btw!) because it makes their accents sound funny, yet they can't even pronounce the word town and happily proclaim themselves the 'toon army'
Pot/kettle much? lol

Geordie lasses accents annoy me too, as with mackems too Far too common. Suppose it's a 'trea't for a southener though! lol

Incidentally, Geordie used to be an umbrella term for the whole NE, but that's another story. lol

The one behind that is to try to say beer-can, without sounding like a jamaican saying bacon lol

Jamaican accents FTW lol

They also seem to be the only ones, that along with the NE say the likes of ate (8) instead of ayte (keyboard accent fail) like the rest of you ponces lol.

Hmm maybe SA is the same. Another cool accent, but not as chilled out! lol

Rysee

No way SA can be dodgy, district 9 proved that to me

I change for no-one! Just like when we emigrated to Perth, W.A when I was 7/8. They tried and failed to get me to say mum instead of mam! lol

Depends if the accent is of a proper pit yaker (like me) or someone from Durham, but yes there is differences in all.

I think I remember where you said you are from, probably still have the PM lol as for a neutral NE accent I would imagine yours is probably more Mackem than anything else, take that how you wish :plol

Wee's keys are these keys lol heard that a few times and funnily enough from Mackems :wtf: and I think some Mackems like to think they're Geordies, weird ****ers.

I thinks some toon lasses sound canny sexy like, only ones that speak proper with a thick Geordie accent sound good to me (same go's for Mackem lasses) lol all southerners think Northerners are Geordies man.

Me sister lives in London and she gets called Geordie which she seems proud of, when ever I went down and people talked about me and her being a Geordie I would say "No I'm not a Geordie I'm from Durham, bit of a difference" but the thick ****s never leanred :tard: lol

I don't like Geordie as I get associated with those foolish football fans who like to 'boycoutt' lol

Aye, I'm 'slightly' mackem lol. It's more evident if I'm in Gosforth or something and realise here ah sound propa different as owt me like. lol

As I said though, broad mackem/geordie makes me cringe! The girls tend to be really rough too. but hey, if that's what you're into man... lol

if you go to cumbria they dont even bother with accents they just make up words.

marra = person
yam = home

"you see that marra than went yam"
translate
"you see that guy that went home"

Rysee
04-10-09, 02:44 AM
I've hear marra from brummies rather random

mowgli

i've heard marra but nearer to coventry & nuneaton....

i think the geordieness came from areas with deep coal mines.... cos the geordies were masters of coal mining, & geordies are apparently so called after George Stephenson (of coal & train fame), who actually owned coal mines in the midlands & would have shipped experienced workers in to start digging.

lollol Marra is used by Mackems as well but as in marra meaning mate, although yame is pronounced yame, "am gannin yame me like".
