Just making a list of bits n pieces I need for my LET conversion.

On the Chris Astley site Im looking at the Front ARB lowering blocks

http://www.chrisastleymotorsport.com/product_info.php?products_id=34

It says 'In order to retain the anti-roll bar when the 2.0 conversion has been carried out you have to lower the anti roll bar front mountings.'

Thing is I dont run a front ARB so is this needed? Or is it still needed to lower the tie bars?

Cheers :thumb:

EDIT: the LET conversion kit includes TCA/Tie bar kit so Im assuming these blocks are only for the front ARB.

No, bin the arb and you wont need the mounts.

Whats it gonna be used for? As lowering the front tie bars dials in some anti dive :)

Road use mate.

I have no front ARB and don't intend to use one either. The full engine mount kit has 'TCA/Tie Bar lowering' bits.

Do the tiebars need to be lowered when installing a LET? Being a 1.2 the tie bars are the smaller diameter ones not the larger ones found on GTE's and Oil burners.

It only says to retain the ARB on there, so I doubt it, tie bars don't really get that close to anything anyway do they? I wouldn't bother if it's just for road use.

On a F28 iirc the tiebars need lowering if im correct.

Ditch the arb as said.

hi-jack, is it recommended to bin the arb in the xe conversion as well.

As I said I don't even have an ARB \/

Can't remember is the tie bars need lowering or not.

Tie bars need lowering at the hub end and crossmember if doing it properly and using an F28.

Have you got an f28 yet, they are big mofo's, weigh about the same as a standard nova lol

You need to lower the tiebars, chrisastley doesnt sell anything for lowering the front of the tiebars you get blocks for lowering them at the lower arm in the LET kit

So they need to be lowered at both ends. As long as thats been clarified. I guess those will be custom fabrications.
