XE-SE Block differences?

In theory, if I had an NE/SE/SEH block, fitted XE Pistons and a Head, would it run ok and would it effect the compression in any way shape or form?

So would their cranks work with the XE Pistons? Reason I'm asking is I have a load of 8vs here.
