On my nova 89 1.2 merit, I have a 4 speed gearbox, however I really want the overdrive, I have been thinking about getting an SR box, but I do not know how different the linkage is, any help would be great cheers

I knew someone who had a 1.2 and he put the 5 speed out of an SR into it, it slowed his car down loads!!(but then it was knackered anyway!!) lol

I am fitting a 5 speed SR box (55,000 miles,- I paid ?30 for it) to my 1.2 Merit over Xmas holidays. (The bearings on the 4 speed are knackered). I'll keep the Forum posted on how the jobby goes !

You will have to change the gear linkage as the linkage you've got won't move right far enough for you to get fifth!
