picked up a 1600 gte engine which i'm going to stick in my saloon,i'll just run it on the weber from the 1300 thats in the car and forget about the fuel injection..obviously i'll need an in-line electric fuel pump , any suggestions as which pump to use ?

you could use a facet pump or something like that, you will also need to use the 1300 distributor chap

i know , i'll just use everything from 1300 engine.. apart from exhaust and manifold which is a 1600 one anyway, cheers for reply.

then you need to sort out the distributor etc....

watch out on the exhaust front, u might have a right ball ache finding something that fits that isnt 1.6 all the way thru. your probably best of using your complete 1300 exhaust (if it clears the sump on the new engine that is)

i guess your gonna be using your 1.3 inlet on the 1.6 head, the ports dont match properly, and the jetting of the carb will underfuel quite badly.

i already use a 1600 manifold and full stainless system from a gte hatch ,with slightly lengthened tailpipe for saloon,so no problems there,i'll just jet the carb to suit.. until i stick some bike carbs on.
only prob so far is the bottom fan belt pulley is missing from 1600 lump and the 1300 one's bolt is too small...anyone know the size of the bolt i need, i guess i'll need the 1600 pulley too... ?

your probably right but i'd try it first anyway, I ran a 16sv on an untouched 1300 twin choke and it went like stink with no problems, fuelled and revved well past 7k

Completed ... used a facet fuel pump and 32/34 weber from original 1300 lump, runs really well, did a plug check and fueling is bang on, plugs are a nice rich tea biscuit colour...
ps jim-bob.. the inlet ports on manifold match perfectly to head.
