Nova challange

I seen a video one time of a nova challange , there was about five top rally drivers all driving nova's back in the early 90's . has any one else seen this?? .I have tried to find it again but not having much luck . Thanks

BBC Mobil 1 rally challenge, 6 drivers, 6 cars, 6 stages. Ran for a few years, 2 years it was novas, 1 year was astra. Can be tracked down on ebay on vhs, I have the proper vid of '89, and '90 taped off the telly hth :)

there were 2 other nova motorsport thingys that i know of.

1. the astra/nova challenge, a limited modification challenge for mk2 astras & novas up to 1300cc, this involved stage rallies & races. it ran in the mid eighties

2. there was a one make rallycross nova series. they ran std 1600 engines but with twin 40's... guessing early nineties

I think this was a one off , and they were using a group A 1.6 nova .not sure but maybe Malcom Wilson and Louise Aitken Walker were driving it

there were regular challenges where they had 6 top flight drivers & then they got them to do a timed stage in the same car, then another stage in another car, and so on, then they would tot up the aggregate time to see who was faster.. I think it was a mobil thing, and it predates the Race Of Champions

'89 was Stig Blomquist, Russel Brookes, Pentti Airikkala, Louise Aitken-Walker, Mark Lovell (RIP), and Malcolm Wilson. That was the year with the Astra. Can't remember @90. but M.W and L.A-W were out again, in the Nova this time, gp A GTE

yea find the top gear mobil 1 rally 1992 vid on ebay. has the group a 1600 nova challange workscars driven by mark higgins and dave metchalfe as well as loads more novas. got some good incar footage and metcalfe beats some sierra cossies 4x4's on manx.

Correct, thats going way waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back tho lol very early 80s. (S1300 was early 80s)

I mentioned this before, the challenge that is, to no avail nor interest lol
