wont start

hi have a 1.6gte revs die and it cuts out when you start it unless you rev it a while to heat engine then runs fine cut out this morning and now wont start. sounds like it wants to start but wont have warning light on dashboard next to handbrake light looks the same as light for handbrake any ideas?

Engine management light? is it a yellow light? if so you need to read the fault codes out of the ecu.
