hi guys my nova is struggling let me explain 1.6 i gte
starts ok runs sluggish but when u turn it off wont restart cos its got hot / only after a short time it gets very hot to the point smoke/steam comes out the small hole in top of oil filler cap
nowwhen i say it wont start turns over fine just seems slow like battery is dead but its not as soon as it cools down starts fine just dont understand it
its had new starter motor
new hydraulic tappets
new cam
something just isnt ok with it but i cant work out what any ideas would be great :confused:

could be your thermastat(sp) thats playing up or possibly your water pump might of kicked the bucket

sounds like a mixture of things mate it could be ignition timing or as you have had the cam changed is it timmed up correctly?could be a tooth out! also your problem with getting hot it could be thermostat or water pump or maybe even a blocked rad
