Got a car alarm on saturday for my car which i have yet to install in my car. Its an shock and sensor one from halfords and was just wondering are they a good job?
My dads friend also has immobilisers too which my dad is going to get of him. Might get a chain for steering wheel too :d .

the problem is if you can count all the wires on one hand its easy to remove.

I wouldnt rely on it protecting your car from theft, it will merely scare off any half assed attempt at a theft, i had a W reg Aprillia SR125 scooter back when it was brand new and i fitted an easy fit alarm, two kids tried to have it away outside my house and the alarm went off so they dropped it and ran, £40 alarm stopped my £2.5k ped getting swiped so it was worth it imo.

But as i say do not think 'its now alarmed so its immune to theft' as one yank on the wires and it shuts up, leaving the theives to steal it in silence!

good point spudly, i now box my nova in with my mums car too. im also for getting a chain as i said.i know this doesnt make it immune to theft but as you also said your alarm stopped your bike being stolen so it should at least scare off kids trying to break in.At least its some kind of security

If you can't it's a bugger to fit lol
