View Full Version : C20XE crankshaft question
hey guys
i am buiding my engine. and im gonna run after market ignition.
im jst wondering, can i use my original trigger wheel on the crank, or do i need to remove it and use an aftermarket one.
and if so, does it go in the original place or near the bottom pulley
many thanks
yep - you can use the original one - leave it where it is! lol
ok cool,
im thinking of using megajolt, do they have a sensor which reads the original trigger wheel?
megajolt cant read the signal from the c20xe, you would need megasquirt for that
does MJ not need a crank sensor, as i have just been reading up about it, and it only talks about TPS or MAP for the carbs
yes they need a crank sensor but they are designed to use a sierra set up
ok, so are you saying i should leave it on or take it off and use a aftermarket wheel on the pulley end
You need an aftermarket wheel to us MJ.
A 36-1 Ford trigger wheel

ok great, so i DO remove my trigger wheel

to be honest for the price of megajolt id get a full megasquirt so there no fooking about

Yep. just leave it there and plug the hole with a duff cranks sensor.

im gonna run twin 45's
and yeh im gonna leave it there, it cant do much harm

Hi, Megajolt will only opperate with the 36-1 wheel as it runs the Ford Edis system, so your OE 60-2 trigger wheel is no good for Megajolt, Regards DM

Hi I should leave the OE one just in case you ever wanted to fit a Megasquirt as it is not very heavy anyway, email me at sales@megasquirtuk.co.uk (sales@ferrarispares.co.uk) and I will send you a photo of one I fitted , a 36-1 on an older Toyota TC engine OK, Regards DM
