whats the best way to lower the compression on a 1400/1600 8v engine??

(IGNORING pikey double gaskets...)

Its a plate that makes more space amazingly. Thus lowering compression as it creates a bigger volumetric area.

How did Courtenay lower the comp on their 1600 GSI conversions??

IIRC didnt they use a spacer plate? Low comp pistons aint cheap!

exactly what i was thinkin!! but i'm sure they were re-bored to 1650cc so would've replaced the pistons anyway??

Is a spacer plate basically a fancy name for another gasket?? Do they work well?? Can your trust them??

EDIT: Ive still got a lot of pics & part information from the 1600T unit i built Stuart, so i thinks Friday or Saturday evening when Ive not got work the next morning ill sit up, trawl photobucket & knock something up just for you :)
