i used to get regular ones about power selling and it would redirect to a fake site with the ebay login. so my user name and password on 2 occassions was a message about his mum then the emails stopped.
our account actually did get hacked in the USA and they tried to get $40 off us..... real ebay sorted it.
Meh, not even a HTTPS addres :thumb:

I just clicked the link Novaboi posted and did something similar, I think everyone should do it.
If you get Firefox or I.E (what ever you use) to remember your passwords for sites you go on, then if you click a link you think is suspicious and your password and login name aren't already in the login box's, then don't put your info in, simplez *squeaky noise*
Or, even better, open a new browser session and go to ebay (or whoever sent the message). Log in, check your messages on there to see if you have any warnings, check items for sale, bids etc.
Never ever ever ever ever ever click links in emails that you have the slightest suspicion about.
Also, I'm pretty certain ebay do NOT send links in emails? They always say "to do xyz, log into your ebay and blah blah" instead of "click here"

ive emailed ebay anyway making them aware of this email. funk knows what they can do about it but its still better to let them know. changed my ebay password now anyway just to be sure
Basically the easiest way to tell if its a genuine eBay link is if the link starts:
https/
The "s" being the secure server login :thumb:
Possibly the most technologically thing i know :)

lol yeah the https, never knew that about genuine ebay emails.
Not necessarily, as some ebay links are non-secure.
If it starts http://www.ebay.com or http://www.ebay.co.uk (or without the www) you should be fine. But still, my previous advice stands.

the domain is insecure yes, the login isnt tho :thumb: same as online banking sites etc.

Yeah ebay don't send links they just tell you to log in, as you said.
