The technical answer is yes you can (via certain USB devices), the real life answer is a resounding no. For what you'd spend on the not even remotely ideal way of doing it you could buy a small LCD TV.

You can get various video/overlay USB devices, they aren't cheap though. There are cheap video in USB adapters that may work but not sure if they are for display or just recording. You could look at USB TV devices, you'd then need to modulate the video signal from the PS3 to plug into this and then stand back in amazement at the seriously crappy fuzzy image you spend money creating ;)

sign up to one of those 'get free ****' websites, you will get a free tv in no time mate, and surely you would have been better buying the tv first rather than the ps3 lol

You should be able to blag a sh!tty old tube TV for bog all from somewhere, doesn't need to be a 50" LCD. People are giving them away nowadays, worth nowt really and will get you through a few months

most laptops have a VGA out, but no VGA in. Infact hardly anything has VGA in unless its a display device.

as said, freecycle or freegle to blag an old CRT for a while.
