Older than my mam that is.
Doubt it, he only started building it in August 09 lol
You sure he didn't finish it in August 09? I've seen a Ka with a Vauxhall V6 in before (on the webz of course)
Very sure, bird i know knows him personally an showed me the link on the weekend lol
Im sure theres a 2.5 N/A floating about, dont think theres another 3.0 v6 Turbo around?
I stand erect.
Corrected.

.......looks at first page then gets bored.............
the engine bay looks packed......where the hell did he fit all the turbo stuff?!
Remote turbo in the rear lol
He has no choice BUT to have the bonnet raised by about 2 inch as it cant close. At all lol even with the strenthenging frame cut out lol

Pretty sure you have the same issue with novas painted baby blue? lol

engine in front......turbo in rear......surely thats not good? doesnt the length of the turbo pipes affect the time it takes to boost?

Probably, but there is a company out there that makes turbo's that sit at the rear of the car, I think they're called Top Secret Turbo's or something like that.
on a normal car that would be a problem, but on something as short as a KA its stupid, but would probably work fine. Faf outweighs the gain in my book though.
im sure that handles really well... nice for a straight line, o no wait, it will wheel spin, then boost and wheel spin some more lol
and trying to go around a corner, good luck. lol

the only way he can get round a corner is with the engine switched off and his mates pushing!!!
nice idea, still can't get past the Ka thing tho, each to their own...
^only the same as doing it to a Nova tho really.

agreed!
Am I the only one who thinks its a loada crap? why a ka? and why a vauxhall v6? I appreciate all the work, but waste of time imo, they might say a nova is a waste of time but come on, even a bird would agree that its a piece-o-crap.

each to their own fella,
I personally can't stand Ka's, to drive yeh ok, but apart from that they do nothing for me.
AT the same time they could say why drive a Nova? its an old rust bucket blah blah, but we all drive them for the same reason...... :wtf:
which is again????;)
which is again????;)
Cheap cars and parts and I can't afford to insure anything as quick and as much fun to drive for less. Wrong answer? lol

i think a ford ka could be an interesting project...if done right...
its small and doesnt weigh a lot, i'm thinking stripped out with a motorbike engine?
putting a 3.0V6 with a turbo in it seems like a waste of time to me, massive heavy engine, with a turbo 2 meters away in the boot..........why? better off with a smaller capacity high output unit, which doesnt weigh a lot. renault 5 gt turbo engine? punto turbo engine? even the 1.8T VAG engine would make more power/sense than a 3.0 V6?
or simply a high revving duratec engine :D

I would just stick in the 1.6 turbo and tune to around 180-200 bhp . That sort of power in a KA and your going to be having some seriously good fun !
Bet you can find a nice clean shell for little money,

(posted twice)
You can get a P reg Ka now for about £300 lol
Meh, RST engines sell for a few hundred so just chuck one of them in as they fit perfectly.

Why a Nova? Why a SAAB Turbo engine??
Same thing chap.
I can guess why a GM v6, as there uber cheap to get, like £100 cheap. You'll find most birds would prefer the Ka to a Nova aswell lol
stop being stupid... its a 3.0 turbo ford Ka...
small car +big engine +turbo = cool
paint it pink make it look/sound standard and put those cheap vinyl flowers on it, then go round every set of traffic lights you know. lol

Look at a few of the avatars on that KAk site and you will see, mike is indeed right lol

Actually, the remote turbo would do a lot for weight distribution.

I agree with remote turbos generally being silly, as lag will be an issue. The V6 does sit in that bay quite nicely though, looks almost like its tilted backwards slightly. It'll be a torque monster too :d
As for the bonnet, whats wrong with that. Real men have engines that don't allow the bonnet to close lol
[edit] Oh, and Mike - haven't read the thread (lazy I know) but is there any gen on what turbo they used and what internals they did to host additional boost? And what pressure its running?
Yeah but... its a ka lol lol lol lol

It's my Ka, I built it for a laugh and by fcuk it puts the biggest grin on my face!
Lag shouldn't be an issue as the 3.0 moves a lot of air, the turbo is a t34 so should provide the engine with more than enough boost after losses down the line.
If you've seen the way people go around the houses with universal I/C on diesel Golfs and Fabia's you'd say my setup is no longer and weighing in at 2" all the way I should be able to deliver volume and pressure.
Steve, I've driven Novas and hate them, they're crap cars that were kinda of good back in the day (only because of the engine), Ka's are just the new Novas, most Nova, Corsa, Saxo, Ka drivers should appreciate they're near the bottom run in the chain, even though mine absolutely mullers most cars around it's still a Ka and I know this.
I started the project a while back now, dicked about on and off for 18 months before I finished it, it's just coming up to it's second MOT
The turbo setup is nearly finished, I'm trying to sort out some larger injectors and a swirl pot fuel setup then it's off for mapping :)
Razorjack, it's going to run standard internals but I've fitted spacer plates on the head to lower the CR to around 8.1:1, I'm not going for big power so I won't need forged rods and pistons etc. The turbo is a water cooled t34 with 360 thrust bearing
If I wanted the bestest fastest car I wouldn't be messing about with FWD to start with so whoever is mincing about how anything FWD is the best then get your head out of the sand ;) I want to put a v8 in my E36, now that would be proper fun :D
Mike, who is your, ahem "friend"?

PS, this was the 2.5 Ka then I built a 3.0 low compression (the gypo way) which is in there now

I think, that is the bollox!! :thumb:
As mayhem said, small car + big engine + turbo = uber cool!
It's the old saying... built not bought!
Should be a proper weapon when set up and running decent boost. Power to weight will be rather stupid.
Love it!!:)
I got the mag with the feature, also an Evo 4x4 powered Ka in another
Nice to see something different, fair play to you for seeing it through!
