Hi,

Firstly I'm going to appologise because this is not nova related or car related for that matter but peoples knowledge on here is better than anywhere else.

I have just got some exhausts for my bike and wondering what primer and paint to use on stainless steel, they are going to be on show so need to look good. And i'm going to paint them black, they are end cans so they get hot but not blistering hot, and the only high temp paint i can find is in matt black, do you think normal paint would stand the heat.

I painted my exhaust in black radiator enamel from b&q 6mths later its still ok, you can get it in spray or tin. only £3.99 if this helps

Rally design do some 1200 degree rated paint for turbos/manifolds, might be worth a look, didn't clock the price though

you dont need primer with high temp paint. halfrauds sels high temp paint in spray form, i believe in gloss, matt, silver, red and metalic red, its designed for engine components though and its £5.99  in our store! or bbq paint works a treat from wilko
