HELP! how do u wire up a cd player into a nova merit as mine does not have the stuff

how do u wire up a cd player in a nova mk1 merit as my nova does not have the wires to do it and i was woundering if some one could help me like show me how to wire it up cheers

i would start by getting an iso plug like so

then run a red wire from the fusebox to the stereo this must be a permant live +12v. then a switched live +12v which is only live when the ignition is on from the fusebox to the stereo.if you look through the stereo hole theres an earth point maybe with a screw in it or just a hole , earth a wire here and run it to the stereo. solder or crimp on the similiar plug to the above. next source speaker wire probs 0.75mm and run from the stereo to wherever you want speakers. :thumb:

No wires at all? Bassically to power up the headunit you only need three wires.. Black-ignition live/Red on stereo adapter
Red-perminant live/Yellow '' ''
Brown-ground/Black '' ''
That should get you started, the rest is just speakers. Fitting fresh wires is probably the best option:)

Fcuk the ISO connector, thats just hassle. Do you have a manual with the head unit? Should have a wiring diagram in there, but as said all you need to start with is earth and power

You can't even swop headunits, yet want to build a rally car?!

Eitherway, as above, go to Halfords and get an iso connector and it should be a simple swop

lol its goin into a rally car but its goin to be hammering all the chavs in there saxo vtrs nd listen to some tunes when in maccies with them init :) lol

get a permenant live from the clock, earth to the chassy and a switched live from the ignition barrel. then run wires to the speakers and wire them all into a iso plug.
