hi guys

baisically i have had the nova in the garage both wings off ariel loose side repeartors off. and welded the splash gaurds up.i have put everything back together as it should be i got in the car and noticed the radio was not working checked the fuse it had blown...... i went to put another fuse in blew it straight away and has done 3 as soon as you touch the socket. the others are fine but it just keeps blowing im useless with electrics anyone help me to as why it keeps doing it.

did you disconnect the battery before welding?

you are ment to disconnect the earth lead off the battery to protect the wiring.

oh dear never thought of this as we did my mayes escort van and it want a problem ? how do i go about this now then to fixing it wise ?

unplug the stereo and try the fuse. if its ok the fault is in the stereo.

what take the stereo out and put a new fuse in the fuse box? if it doesent blow it its the stereo ??

thanks mate will do the fuse is the one for the interior light hazard lights and stereo if that helps you mate feel like a dick now cant belive i have done this !!

are you sure you have not sorted the side repeaters as its the same fuse??

indicators work fine plugged them back in and screwed the earth in just the hazard cd player and interior light etc !

if its the drivers side you welded you may have melted the insulation on the wiring to the interior light, which runs up the drivers side and into the A pillar, might be shorting onto the shell causing the fuse to pop? especially if youre checking it with the door open.

use a split pin if you need it to be on until you sort it
