WTF!! Active Carbon Canister

can ne1 tell me wtf an active carbon canister does, n more importantly how the hell do u remove it on a 1.2i had 2 remove the bumper 2day n had 2 physically remove the bumper from the carriage bar as i couldn't get 2 the iron coz of the canister

sommat to do with emiisions - and catalysts.

fitted to all modern cars now adays

my moms rover metty has one.

and in all honnesty mate, remove the grille and detach the irons from the bumper bar is a MUCH easier method anyway!

It stores petrol vapour from the tank, and under inlet vaccum control releases it into the engine to be burnt.
