xe rods and pistons

ok guys i want to change my rods and pistons in my xe block for some sporty stroger ones was wondering what people have used who have built big spec engines on hear b4??

Depends on budget

Farndon/Arrow rods are the boys for around £750-800

Pistons - JE, CP, Omega, Accralite etc around £5-800

You can buy cheaper steel rods for £275 off ebay - and they cant be THAT bad! lol

i was looking to get some standard new conrods and pistons,

what price shoudl i be paying for just standard stuff.

Pointless imo, get the ebay rods and a set of mahles total about 700.

As for original post how deep are your pockets what are you trying to acheive?

Best getting some ebay rods and forged Omegas etc

i can get steel rods.

tbh people slate the £300 rods but gaz'd/andys purple corsa used to rev to nearly 9k until the crank snapped....the rods didnt even sperate at the main cap. did bend, but the engine was complete carnage. and few mates are running 400bhp+ LETS with no problems at all.

the error isnt in the rods as such its in the engine builder.

btw what spec are you thinking of running anyway? mega spec to you could be mild to someone else.
