After fitting a new wheel bearing to my nova and it collapsing, I did a bit of research. I noticed that apparently there are two types of wheel bearing for a nova, a 64mm and a 66mm outside diameter. Now looking at parts place online (SKF and Autovaux) they have both listed. However when I bought my current and previous bearings no one has ever asked which one I needed.
I believe Vauxhall only list one type too?

dont worry about it, if the one you have fits in the knuckle then the other isnt going too etc

I've only ever known one size for the front.

Novas are 64mm and Corsas 66mm...the confusion must be due to that.

It probably collapsed because you pressed on the inner race & not the outer which is an interference fit into the knuckle.

Nope used the old bearing to press the new one in, I am actually a mechanic by trade, but yes that is the common error.
The one that collopsed was either a manufacturing error or the flange was all the way home... I've check the race and it was.
