Right bascially since i put my bike carbs on my car has started dodgy ie- first thing in the morning its turns over as if the battery is flat then if i keep cranking it over it starts getting quicker until the engine starts? doing my nut in now so i asked at work and they said sounds like starter is ****ed now the only thing that i know could cause this is when i was fondling for an ignition live i used the one for the starter motor so basically after the car started the starter kept spinning. Anyone have any tips/help on this?? cheers

if it stayed engaged when you ran the engine you would know about it! It would make a right racket!

Also this cooks them pretty quickly...

Does sound like the starter though - brushes worn or bushes fecked possibly

Ah - in which case the bushes on the starter will be fecked - they melt and disfigure when they get hot - the armature (main bit inside) will be not running straight/true, so will lock up....
