View Full Version : Emails
Is there any way to find out if 2 email accounts are being used off the same computer because my misses is getting loads of **** off someoe on facebook an i think its my ex on a fake profile i know her e-mail and the one off facebook but i need to know if theyre the same person
Not really, no.
Could always drop a keylogger onto the target machine lol
Yes, I know how to tell if its a yahoo account but if its MSN I'm not so sure, I will collect some info and make another post when I am done.
Edit: Actually I lied, they would need to send an email directly to your gf's email account I think, for me to be able to work my magic, I am quite tired right now and had a proper beasting at rugby today so I'll come back to this later.
If they're using MSN messenger its possible to grab a target IP address. Email is unlikely, not sure why yahoo would be any different?
Plus, bear in mind that if you DO pick an an IP address from an email, it will 99% likely trace to the one of the user's ISP's server nodes rather than the target machine. Web based email would be even harder, unless they use outlook to manage it or something.
The simple answer of course is just to correctly set your privacy settings on facebook and remove/block the user. Job done.

talk to them on messenger, go to the command prompt and type netstat, it will bring up the internet connections, your looking for the foreign address
don't have too many connections running (IE etc) because it shows them too
You need a constant connection though to do that, so you'd need to send them a large file and check the addresses whilst its sending. Look for the addresses with the MSN ports.
Can't see the ebay link (damned firewall) but judging by the item title, if its a USB keylogger you'd need to physically access the machine to use it

yep, its a hardware logger.
other than what i've suggested the only other way to get the ip address is to get an email directly from thier inbox (rather than proxy through mybook, facespace etc) and do a trace on it
IP address info from emails is far from reliable though, unless the email is sent from their ISP mail account (which is unlikely) and the ISP mail system is crap (which is less likely, but still unlikely). Hotmail and yahpoo put them in as comments so its easy to remove or forge them, and gmail (rightly!) doesn't show originating IP addresses.

Agreed, but if i didn't post any of these suggestions, there would be nothing in this topic ;)
If someone sends you an email from Yahoo (I only know about yahoo mainly for reasons I wont state) in the bottom right hand corner you will see "Full headers" if you click on that and "X-Originating-IP:" then this is the IP of the person who sent you the email.
As Jack said though doing this when someone has sent you a pm on FB and you check the email you will only get the IP of the server.
To get someones IP via Windows Live Messenger there is a few ways, send them a file/start their webcam then go to run and type in cmd, once in cmd type in netstat -a and it brings up a list of connections, but if you don't know what you're looking for then this is pointless as there can be a big list of connections.
The other way to do it via WLM or Yahoo! Messeneger is to get an IP sniffer and close all running applications that connect to the internet then run the IP sniffer.
