For all you i.c.e obsessed freaks!lol what size gauge wire is used for wiring car speakers? bassically i want some better quality stuff from standard(nothing much thicker), going to buy a big roll of the stuff since its way cheaper than paying £1.50 per metre @ carcraft!. Me and mates always seem to use load of the stuff!! but it all comes in different gauges??

And best to get the OFC (Oxygen Free Cables) better quality. You don'T need to have them too thick for normal speakers. If its for a Sub then you get them a bit thicker than normal.

I used it a few years ago, the speakers appeared louder and clearer

I have no idea, abit thicker than normal wire by a few MM, but not thick enough to run a sub off lol

Not looking to run a sub as I've already go thick wire for that. Just want to update the front speakers but as there is so much wire then it's worth doing them all with the same stuff.

All depends entirely on the power you're putting down the wire.
If the speakers are any good - and if you're looking at wire gauge, I'd assume they were good - the product details should specify what gauge wire to use.

i used chunky beast wires for my 6x9's. i dont think its done them any favours, read somewhere that the heavy grade wires steal some of the juice going down em. like nova tek said that oxygen free stuff is good, skinny will do fine from the headunit. amps and subs wouldnt know.

I use 3.3mm2 (OFC) for my speakers!!
I use at least 16 gauge. Halfords have been selling off all their cable as they are no longer stocking it. Some may have bits left? So I bought 40 meters at £1 a meter to use in my rewire in my boomer
