If its got FWD running gear bodged into it, then it's deffo not worth anything close to that asking price.

Seriously though, if that is what the wants for it, he has some balls even asking that much for it.

Jack
21-09-09, 08:57 PM
Nice. Quite like that. Can't figure out why he's stuck the 152 inlet on though, surely there'd be loaaads of room in the back for the 180 inlet.

£27k must be a typo though surely.

Oh, and what is it with people who really can't be bothered to sell. One liner basicaly saying "car for sale" is pretty shoddy.

£3k to build, and if you charge your time at £10 an hour?

250hours? £2500?

So for £5500?

Its should be either £2750, or £7750?

How do you know its been bodged? all the work could have been carried out by fully trained mechanics for all you know..

also, its his car, he can ask what he wants, whether he sells it or not is another matter...

I think of the price of Metro 6R4's and I guess this could have the expensive equipment they have . . .

Left my lights on on my XR2 One day. RAC man comes to jump it - Lazy i know, but 15 min waiting tim, Being Parked in Eastleigh and on my own = Win.

He first of all asked me "how on earth my battery went flat ?"... Then secondly "Eh, What's this engine ? is it a new one" .

He was probably about 19, and clearly didn't have a clue.

in theory then if ive got fwd running gear in the back of my corsa does that mean mines bodged?lol

would put a pic up of what its like at the moment but i cant get on photbucket in work anymore. but then again ive built mine with a lad who builds autograss chassis's, i build engines on side and im a mechanical engineer so i should be fine lol

upto now ive spent about £10k, but i have built race spec XE thats best parts of £7k

looks a nice nova, but id say maybe £4k tops, depends if its had the ****e front subframe and struts fitted or done something like ive done with space frame and trailing arms

for those wondering where theyve seen it, it was at pvs, parked next to the grandstand. it was red then. its apparently a rallycross spec shell with lots of trick susp etc. had a nice chat with him at the time.

sloth is right it is not just a bodge it is an ex rally car from the 80s even still has all the scrutineering stickers on the cage its basically just been restored on the outside as it was looking pretty tired there is no build thread but i do beleive that the guy who done all the bodywork does have pics mid resto its a bit of a beast i had the pleasure of being taken out in it before it was restored and its so raw its unreal the car has history so think that is why james has put it up for so much but even in my eyes 27k is far to much

22-09-09, 09:34 PM
Couple of facts for you all

The car was built in the early 90's by Ian Jemison Engineering over in york

He rallied it sucessfully - first with an 8V and then a 2 ltr 16v

Was sold and converted to what you see for sale - originally red !

I'll scan the artical from Fast Car 1991 and post in the next few days

A little taster for you in its original state !!

Must have some history to it but IMO nothing can justify a £27,500 price tag on a Nova. That's mint MK1 Escort money.

I know the Nova is by no means an everyday car, but at least you could drive it to the shop if the notion ever took you, but what the hell would you do with a 900 hp dragster that won't cost you an absolute fortune everytime you want to start it!!!!lol

You could buy two of these for that money.

Better looking, bigger engine (which is in the right place), more power, properly RWD. And girls would suck your dick if you rocked up in that.

again back to the corners and cost of petrol issue

tbf its sweet though

Jack
22-09-09, 11:58 PM
3.0 Nova won't go round corners and the fuel consumption will be sh!tty, I can personally vouch for both of those facts. Might as well sacrifice a couple MPG and look a billion % cooler lol
