what revs should i expect to see this in a 12st??

Probably at about 7k. They only rev to about 4900 (or so it feels).

You putting a proper cam with some lift in it?

no i hit it but dont have a rev counter so using stu's calculator im trying to work it out. according to his calculator i got it at about 8k lmao

What engine is that ? 1200 Carb or 1200i ?

carb you will get 7k maybe slightly more
inj you will get around 6-6.3

they had different valve springs in the injection to carb?

not sure the inj is limited where as the carb is not limited so to speak

yes that makes sence and doesnt really answer my question. i know what they are normally regarded as safe to rev to but i want to know when i should expect valve bounce

around 7.5k thats when mine last nova bounced the valves

my first 1.2 merit back in 86 used to get gear changes at 28mph (1st-2nd), 51mph(2nd-3rd), 75mph(3rd-4th)

i did once accidentally go from 3rd to 2nd at 70mph..... i guess that was valve bounce.

i had to wait about 12 years to get a nova with a rev counter, they were my gear change points... after those speeds, the power tailed off a tad

before i fitted duplex to mine it would rev to around 7100 to 7300 before experiencing full valve bounce which leads to power tail off, after fitting duplex valve springs and a decent cam the dyno man took it to 8250 where is was still developing power but was starting to level off and valve bounce was beginning to kick in, best in a standard car not to take it above 7000 in a standard car as the power has truely started to tail off and your putting the top end at risk.

about 8000rpm on a 1.3 head, at 8.5ish k this happens lol

You need solid lifters as at high rpm as the oil drains from the hydraulic lifters.

ive done that before lol, i thought i had broke it. sine doing an oil change tho ive not had that problem

little beast looks ok in the vid lol you sure its only a 1.2? haha, mates 1.0 touches the 35 1st-2nd 65 2nd-3rd somthing like 75-80 3rd-40 then he had "107 out of it he said to me hmmm unsure on that but know itdoes that speed through the gears except aint seen it top out

107 speedo speed maybe. when my clocks show 120 the tom tom says 105 and yes standish 1.2

My 12nv gets some sad abuse. Valve bounce etc. It will do 65 in 2nd...(thats on nova clocks).

The best thing is, it keeps coming back for more. It never heats up. And it surprised my mates starlet sr. Ok enough 1.2 bragging lol

So it is true there is nothing faster than a 1.2 Nova!

10 seconds to 60 is a top effort Burgo in a 1.2. What's the standard time 13-14 seconds?
