Does anyone else think they are one of the most amazing bands!?
Everytime I stop listening to their music I forget how brilliant they are and then am completely blown away when I play one of their albums again.
Because of the Times is the best album in my opinion and On Call is one of many of my fav songs by them.
Need to see them live!!!
If not, then who is, in your opinion, the best band ever?

From what I've heard of them, they just sound like typical modern music channel middle-of-the-road durge.

I have been listening to the Kings of Leon for years. Their newest album became a bit more commercialised, like most bands do when they hit the big time but hopefully they'll go back to their roots with their next album.
I dont think they are the best band EVER! But they make bloody amazing music and to say they sound like every other band means you have obviously never listen to them so there :P
So far no-one seems to have given a better suggestion - waits for endless Oasis suggestions

I grew up listening to Oasis thanks to my dad so I love their music from the 90's but they got worse with age and now they have broken up for the 1000th time. For good this time, yeah right, we'll see what happens when they start getting a bit low on money!

My dad just turned 43 a few weeks back and my mum 42, Im only a few years younger than you Jack so if your old then im on my way lol
I had mariah carey and celine dion from my mum and oasis and the police from my dad and then grew up listening to the spice girls and boyzone so have a bit of weird taste in music.
Kanye West makes really good music but seriously needs a reality check! There are people out there far better than him but he seems to think he is 'the be all and end all' of music. Prick!

Yet again many people have failed to read the thread properly and yet again I am having to repeat myself at a very slow pace for the dumbasses.
I didnt say they are the best band ever, I said they make very good music.
Also, I dont understand why people judge how good a fan you are by how many times you have seen them live or whether you have a super awesome key ring with the band on! I have no money and when I have it I have more important things to spend it on and that's why I have yet to see them live.

thanks joe. the thing is, modern music all filters back to the early 1930's and even before that. nothing is wholly new. the main pioneers happen at times of unrest, sadness, happiness, and joy. look at punk, ska, rock and jazz etc, and they all have had some influence by the era they began in. all have a relevance today, and if you manage to write something new that encapsulates this, excellent. atm im listening to:

joni mitchell
and the clash
not all major influences on music but the genres are.

average at best, some of their songs are pretty good (hence why i have two of their albums) but for the most part nothing more than your average modern day "rock group"
A ticket 'fell into my lap' last year (or the year before?) and I went to see them somewhere in Manchester.
Was a great live-show - the singer (I don't even know their names lol) has a massive voice and the lighting was pretty awesome.
It's a bit quirky, I might buy a 'best of' when it gets down to £3 or so.
most bands can put on a "good" live show though...
I hate 'the scissor sisters' but when carlys mate did a last minute no show I was dragged along to see them. Pretty damn good (still dont like the music lol) show.
Losthprophets were ace live and they are my guilty 'rock' pleasure
