My mum has given me a 2001 vauxhall corsa with a blown head gasket(creamy stuff on oil filler cap no water in engine and little oil)

I'm going remove the head and have it skimmed and fit a new gasket but need some tips.

Do I need to remove the valves in the head etc?do I need any special tools?would a haynes manual take me step by step?

Haynes will show you, no need to remove valves for a slight skim.

theyre not a nice job to do chap, the heads are normally scrap on those engines, you will need a cam locking kit to time it all back up, :)
