Oh your thinking of duck egg blue. Similar but not a patch on the baby blue. lol
yes they've been done, yes they are thirsty, not they aren't much faster than a decent xe, no the bonnet doesn't fit very well unless you get a certain (rocking horse poo) manifold, no they don't like corners.
but all the above is just my opinion

the saab v6 i belive will give you more space to close the bonned as the inlet is different to the GM item
To expand on some of the (very valid!) points above:
yes they've been done
Indeed, see pic of my RENAULT blue saloon lol. There's quite a few out there, but they're not THAT common (see below)
yes they are thirsty
Expect 25mpg tops if you drive like a grandad; if you like to drive it fast then you're looking more at the very low teens, I've even seen 10mpg on a couple of occasions. Compare that to the 35-40mpg I had from my XE even when driving hard.
not they aren't much faster than a decent xe
After having both, sure the 152 may not be, but the 180 is miles ahead of an XE. The power delivery is also completely different to an XE or even a LET
no the bonnet doesn't fit very well unless you get a certain (rocking horse poo) manifold
The bonnet will close fine with a 152 cav inlet, its the 180 inlet that sticks up and gets in the way. Cav inlet is far from rare, its on pretty much all the 152s.
no they don't like corners.
This is very very true lol and hence why they're not so common. I built mine to be a motorway muncher, which its excels at, but tbh its a nightmare round the B roads. If I wanted a car that handles, I would have stuck with the XE.
the saab v6 i belive will give you more space to close the bonned as the inlet is different to the GM item
Saab inlet is the same as the GM one
You will need to chop the slam panel, do something funky with the exhaust to clear the steering rack, make up a custom front engine mount, errrrrrmmmm can't remember what else we did lol Bearing in mind, mine was already XE'd so if you were doing it from scratch you'd need all the usual XE gubbins - mounts, welding, fueling, etc.
the saab v6 i belive will give you more space to close the bonned as the inlet is different to the GM item
Nope, tis the cavalier inlet you need, jacks has a saab inlet on and thats why he has had to raise the back of the bonnet and remove the engine cowling for driving, oh and chop the loop off the top of the dipstick too, all so he can close the bonnet, meh, bonnets are overrated anyways lol
why settle for second best when i already have a nova??! ;)
C'mon! Someone must have put one in before!
why!! because you can buy the mounts and have funk loads more space to fit it
The bonnet will close fine with a 152 cav inlet, its the 180 inlet that sticks up and gets in the way.
Out of curiosity, what are you calling 152 and 180?

How fast would one of those go ? would it be faster than a let or xe nova ?
How fast would one of those go ? would it be faster than a let or xe nova ?
In a straight line id guess out of the box it would be faster than an XE, and not amazingly far behind a LET, but in the corners both would leave the V6 in the bushes lol

I thought that, but afaik the C25's are 167, X26 are the same iirc but higher torque and X30's are 201'ish...the only exception is MSD V6's..

WTF with the mpg comment! I have an MV6 3.0 lump running with full 4x4 running gear in our calibra and it manages 35mpg normal driving (mix of motorway/A-road/city).
