removing and replacing front wings????

how hard is this to do, ive jsut ordered 2 new wings for my sri, as one is a little bent out of shape and the other is F**cked, i want to take the old ones off and replace them with the new......as ya do :roll: ssooooooo im wonderin is it worth doin it myself, or leavin the garage to do it on monday .. MOT DAY ! :o the only thing that i can see as a prob is the fact that ive got GSI skirts, and im not sure how there connected to the wings, and dont wana start takin them apart and screw everything up!

If they need to be sprayed, leave em to the garage.

easy.

If MOT Monday and your not planning on painting before then -

- Remove bumper/grill etc (see haynes)
- Remove side skirt main strip (just unclips but check underneath - you need to remove the clips that secure it to the underside - maybe rivetter on underneath)
- remove side repeater (haynes)
- remove wings (haynes) - need to cut mastick but thats not a problem
- refit is reverse of above (leave mastick off though so you can remove and spray)
- you may need to rerivet underside of skirt or use self tappers (depends on how theyre fastened on)


then when passed mot - remove and spray then when you put back on make sure you mastik the wings in place where old mastik was - dont use silicon sealer - perishes

Do it urself mate!They will only charge u sumit over the odds for a job which is only a hour a wing and thats if you are working slow!!I did one wing on an Astra SRi in 2hrs including spraying and getting the wing from the scrappie!! :)
