Updated my laptop the other day. Now when i go on to the various websites, i have to login every time. I check the box that says remember me, but no joy. What do i need to change?? Ta.

Depends on what Browser your using, but you should have "Accept Cookies" and "remember passwords" ticked/checked on all available privacy options.

try temporarily overriding cookie handling.

Tools > internet options > privacy > advanced > override automatic cookie handling > accept, accept, always allow

restart IE8

Done that RJ and done it again just to be sure. Disabled Yahoo toolbar as well, after some googling seems that can be an issue. Now i have to refresh every forum page to get an up to date view. Arrrghhhhh WTF!!

EDIT: sod it. Using my Norton options and saving logins and password to the tab. I'm not all that clued up with computers and have very little patience with the ****ing things!!!!

"tools"
"internet options"

look for a bit about tempory internet files, click the settings for that
tell it to look for page updates automatically (or every tiem you visit a page if you wish)

Sorted it. Cost me £60 though!!!

Basically...i have started downloading movies. One of them (Transformers 2) was in avi format, and when i opened it i was being directed to a site to download a new codec reader. So i did....and in the process got a backdoor (oooh er misses lol) tidserve trojan virus!!! **** **** and ****ing bollox!!

So, spent nearly 2 hours this afternoon on t'internet with support from Norton, they had to remotely link to my laptop and delete/modify various files and programs.

All is now good.
